NIKON M-223 BDC 600 8489 3-12x42SF Riflescope (Black)

Product Description

Recognizing the popularity of AR rifles, Nikon has developed a new line of riflescopes built to deliver extreme speed, accuracy and shooting confidence. The M-223 line offers five new riflescopes, all engineered for the 223 Rem./5.56mm NATO round with 55-grain polymer tipped bullet with a muzzle velocity of 3240fps. With Nikon's latest reticle and adjustment technologies, the M-223 integrates the same level of quality as the flagship Monarch riflescopes. "The recent surge in AR-type rifle purchases means there is a new group of customers out there learning just how much fun owning an AR is," said Jon LaCorte, senior product marketing manager Nikon Sport Optics. "We've built the M-223 family to help them enjoy and use their rifles no matter if it's for competition, varmint or predator hunting or just plinking fun."All of the new M-223 riflescopes feature Nikon's famous fully multicoated optics, up to 95% light transmission, waterproof/fogproof/shockproof performance and lifetime warranty. Designed for AR carbines and popular 3 gun competitions, the 1-4x20 with Point Blank reticle features an extremely large exit pupil for low light performance and a super wide field of view. The all-new Point Blank reticle technology means incredibly accurate and fast shooting from zero to 200 yards thanks to thick reticle posts and purpose-designed 3-MOA center dot for instant targeting on paper or steel plates. The 2-8x32 is available with Nikon's all new BDC 600 reticle or the Nikoplex reticle with Nikon's new Rapid Action Turret system; both are ballistically matched to the 223 Rem. round and offer unprecedented speed in dialing in your shots for virtually any known distance-from 0 to 600 yards.

Built for extreme shooting, long range aiming, speed, and precision, the M-233 BDC 600 3-12X42SF Riflescope from Nikon is the big brother of the M-223 lineup. The scope offers an adjustable 3 to 12x magnification range to provide the combined benefits of a wide field of view at the low range and fine-tuned detail at the top of the range. Meanwhile the 42-millimeter objective lens with fully multi-coated optics offers up to 92 percent light transmission for large, clear, and crisp sight images. Paired with the BDC 600 aiming reticle, this scope provides precise target acquisition from 100 to 600 yards. The scope's side focus parallax adjustment lays down a serious power range for your most extreme shooting, while the quick focus-eyepiece, and 1/4 MOA reticle adjustments allow you to zero in and focus quickly. Built to last the M-233 BDC 600 scope boasts one-piece tube construction of aircraft-grade aluminum--and the scope is nitrogen purged and O-ring sealed to keep the optics in pristine condition. The scope is backed by Nikon's full lifetime warranty.

The M-223's large ocular lenses deliver bright, high-resolution sight pictures.

5(5/5) Spectacular!
By T. Ho
Before buying this scope, I must say that I'm very familiar with Nikon's products. The fact that Nikon makes very high quality lenses really pulled me towards their line of scopes while considering other options such as Leupold, Weaver, Swarovski, etc. In the end, I obviously chose this scope because:
1) it listed at a very reasonable price during the time of my purchase (it actually is cheaper in price right now!);
2) the quality of the lenses are superb and allowed sharp focus;
3) it is an appropriate scope that suited my AR-15 (LMT CQB MRP 16 Piston);
4) the reticle has a bullet drop compensator (very easy to understand as well; goes in increments of 50 yards up to 600 yards)

I took it to my favorite rifle range (Angeles Range) to test it out. After zeroing it in along with a shooting session, my jaw literally dropped. This scope is amazing, on my first few tries of using it, I was able to hit the steel targets dead center beyond 400 yards. It made me feel like a marksman at the range and the best part was I didn't have to adjust anything on the scope when I wanted to transition from close to far shots and vice versa.

Pros:
- Excellent value for the money
- Reticle is amazing and ingenious, it has a simple to understand bullet drop compensator which goes in increments of 50 yards!
- Smooth and easy to adjust zoom and focus
- Nitrogen-filled and O-ring sealed; minimizes image distortion, no fogging
- Has focus parallax adjustment on the left
- Comes with a two lens caps/covers and also an ARD removable anti-reflective device (made by KillFlash) which eliminates objective lens glare
- Easy to zero-in and reset the crosshairs back to zero
- Plenty of eye relief

Cons:
- None

Other Notes:
- Made in the Philippines
- If you use the M-223 scope mount with this scope, you won't be able to use BUIS (back up iron sights) or at least none that I know of. I use Troy BUIS and Magpul BUIS and they are not mountable with the M-223.

Suggestion(s)/Recommendation(s):
- Make sure you get this model, the one with the BDC 600 reticle (NOT the scope with Nikoplex reticle)
- If you're going to be using the suggested Nikon scope mount listed here NIKON M-223 743 AR Mount (Black), make sure you lap it (look up "Lapping scope mounts"). It is absolutely necessary that you lap your scope mount before using this scope with your rifle otherwise you can scratch the scope as you shoot since it's not seated in the scope mount properly.
- Other things that you should consider is a "two-stage" trigger (mainly for semi-auto shots) because a two-stage trigger will improve your accuracy since you will have a crisper/no creep trigger pull break. On top of this, practice your breathing rhythm (control your inhale and exhale) when firing.
- Keep the lens covered at all times when not in use. The less dust it come in contact with, the better; don't forget to use the appropriate microfiber cloths and air dusters to remove debris (never touch with your bare hands!).

Overall, I highly recommend this scope. It works very well with all 5.56mm/.223 chambered rifles.

Thank you for reading this review.

5Nikon M-223
By RyanAR15
Great scope!! Optics are very clear. the only way this scope could be any better is if it went from 4-16 power instead of 3-12. But the reticle is dead on if your bullet is going the right muzzel velocity. Fun scope to shoot with, makes it very easy to adjust for the wind and there is no guess work with this scope if your distance is known. I would recommend this scope to everyone!!

5m-223 scope

This is an awsome scope the bdc reticle is useful. With this scope i am achieving 1/2 inch groups at 100yds with bulk factory ammo and 16" barrel. Nikon also has a program called spot-on on their website for using the bdc with other bullet weights and velocities.
